One of my favorite albums of Christmas music is Toward Winter by Close Enough. Close Enough is/was a musical group from New Hampshire (I think), with most of the members being women.

I love the stark, haunting, peaceful quality of their renditions of these old songs. Perfect music to listen to with a hot cup of coffee, while you sit in an overstuffed chair and watch the snow fall.

I’ve uploaded the tracks from the Toward Winter album here for your enjoyment- I scoured the ‘net and could not find them or a way to order it anywhere. I hope you enjoy.

To obtain a copy of this CD, please send a check for $15, along with your mailing address to:

      HI Alouette,
Thank you for putting this beautiful CD together! I’ll revise my post to include your mailing info. Are you folks still creating music together? I picked up Toward Winter at a Christmas bazaar in Keene close to 15 years or so ago.

Wow, I just found this site. We are still playing music together, but Melanie has dementia and I have heart failure, so not sure how long we’ll still be managing… but music is healing they, say.

Hi, this is my favorite (of 50 Christmas CDs). Judy Collins is a distant 2nd. Years ago I heard it playing in Hanna Grimes and had to buy it. Seven years ago I over to Maine and it was damaged…skippy. This year the crack has widened and unplayable. Are you still selling it?

You bet! I have more copies than I know what to do with, please tell your friends. I just found this site, so I apologize for returning a year later.
